Ann Anspach
Ann was born in Jackson Hole, WY. The youngest of three children, Ann lived much of her life on a ranch about 100 miles from Jackson, graduating valedictorian of her class at Pinedale High School. Ann’s family valued education, hard work, and the place agriculture holds in the American experience. Ann’s interest in art was fostered by a gift from Santa of a John Gnagy drawing kit. Ann has always found the inspiration for her art in nature.
Ann went on to serve as President of the Wyoming Artist’s Association and took meaningful workshops at the annual conventions of that organization, and workshops from other artists when possible. She also took community education classes, in Pinedale, WY, and that is where she got started working in clay. That seemed to be a natural skill, and one Ann has pursued at every opportunity, winning many awards for her thrown and sculpted work. Ann has worked in watercolor, oil, acrylic, pencil and pastels, as well, winning awards in each of these media in numerous shows.
When Ann lived in Arizona she taught many classes in watercolor, oil, pastel and mono printing. Ann participates in art endeavors for the joy of expression and to create beauty and/or function and to share the joy of the art experience with others sharing an interest in art and art techniques.
