Regina Marvin began her journey into watercolor painting by enrolling in a class taught by a retired high school art teacher. She joined an informal group of other artists meeting on a weekly basis, learning from and sharing with each. The group also attended a variety of week-long workshops instructed by well-known professional artists such as Janet Rogers, Rose Edin, Gerald Brommer, Karen Knutson, Patricia Johnson, and Karlyn Holman.
Regina is a watercolor artist who usually adds one or more mediums and a variety of textures to her work. She uses transparent watercolors and may add ink and/or collage, or stamp various shapes into the background.
Her subject matter is usually organic – flowers, fruit, leaves, etc. with an additional element, painted in an abstract-impressionistic manner.
