ARTIST STATEMENT:

My name is Steve O’Melia and I’ve enjoyed photography for over 30 years but was always “just ok” with it so when I bought a new camera a few years ago I also decided to invest in more photographic knowledge as well. Now I find myself taking the best photos of my life and enjoying the experience more than ever. One of the things I love about photography is the ability to look at random, everyday subjects and wonder “how will that look as a photograph?” It also draws me into nature and some amazing locations that most people don’t get to see. My desire is to bring my vision and some of these places to you. I have had my photos published in various local magazines and are now displayed in local Las Vegas area museums and galleries.

I have spent most of my life in the San Diego, CA and Las Vegas, NV area and love the desert southwest for all its unique and raw beauty. Las Vegas is a wonderful gateway to many beautiful areas around the west so is a perfect home base. 

I have had the pleasure of having my work displayed in various Las Vegas area museums and galleries as well being printed in local and regional magazines.
